Queens Park Play area had long been forgotten and fallen into a state of disrepair with play items being removed as they failed and not replaced. The Friends of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom wanted to try and reverse this and provide a vibrant play area for our local children.
We successfully applied for and received two grants for play equipment and raised funds for one extra item called a “Fireball”,
In 2014 Queens Park playground was presented with a brilliant new activity trail thanks to Everite Windows and the Wirral Globe
We looked at trying to get the swings painted but the council had no funds for this so we put a call out for volunteers to come and have a painting day in the Park. We were delighted when a local painting contractor Kevin Mocks came forward and offered his business K J Mock Ltd to paint all existing play equipment (swings and play slide) and supply all the paint - wonderful.

To help make the black tarmac in between the play items more attractive we installed attractive floor markings which are great fun to hop, jump and skip on.
